'We are the only beings we know in the whole universe who can laugh... I think we should do a lot more of it. It's awfully hard to shoot at someone when you're laughing like a fool.'

Drawing Together

Published 2006 by Walker Books in the UK, Drawing Together is a set of three linked stories for 5-7 year old confident readers.

When Lucy comes to her new school, she doesn't know anybody, except the horrible Harriet. For a while, she is very lonely. But Lucy is good at drawing and through her art she makes the kind of friends everybody wants. This is a story of marginalisation and otherness for young readers. It has been translated into Spanish and distributed in the USA for Spanish-speaking children.

Jess Meserve's fantastic illustrations bring this story of imagination, difference and friendship to life on the page.
